Ballonfiesta
A short visual series from a hot-air balloon gathering: balloons in open sky, a warm sunset blur, and the quiet scale and colour of a festival afternoon captured in four frames.
Brief
Shot at a balloon festival where the sky filled slowly, with the strongest images built around single balloons rather than the full fleet. The brief was atmosphere over spectacle: let each frame carry one clear visual idea - a balloon suspended in blue, a companion in warmer light, the soft blur of trees at sunset, and the quiet presence of the crowd reduced to scale.
Approach
Shot clean with subjects centred in open sky, letting negative space do the work across all frames. The edit moves from crisp balloon forms through warmer light to an intentionally soft sunset blur - a progression from precision to texture. Colour stays natural throughout, with the balloon envelopes providing the only saturated accents against muted sky tones.
